AIF 40th ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE
Sat 23rd to Mon 25th August 2008

 (lunch to lunch inclusive)

Interchurch Families - Making a Difference in the World

Every year the Association holds a conference for members and friends.  This year we look forward to celebrating the 40th annual get-together of interchurch families, with time to reflect on the past and to look to the future – and as AIF approaches the grand age of 40, we ask what difference are we making in the world?

We will be joined by the Rev Canon Gregory Cameron, Deputy General Secretary of the Anglican Consultative Council, Rev Canon Bob Fyffe, General Secretary of Churches Together in Britain & Ireland, Thomas Knieps–Port le Roi from the University of Louvain, and another senior Roman Catholic speaker (yet to be announced).

Whether you are new to the AIF Conference, haven’t been for years, or are a regular attendee, you will find the 2008 40th Anniversary Conference a wonderful opportunity to reflect, celebrate and take action – do please join us.

Who is it for?
We welcome all couples and families in an interchurch marriage, or thinking about such a marriage (usually a Roman Catholic and a Christian of another communion) and interchurch children of any age. We especially welcome clergy, ministers and all others interested in, or pastorally concerned with, interchurch families.

Children
The children will enjoy their own separate, but integrated programmes and there will be a crèche. Those aged 15 and over may elect to join the main conference or take part in the Young Adults Group (IFYAG) programme.

If you are under 18 and wish to come alone please complete a Parental Consent Form which may be obtained from the AIF Office. The Association cannot accept unaccompanied children under the age of 15.  Those 15 and over who attend without their families will be required to pay the full adult cost.

Worship and prayer, as in our families, are central to the Conference. All ages are involved in the liturgy and the music. There will be celebrations in Roman Catholic, Anglican and Free Church traditions.

Where?
The Conference is held at the Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick, Derbyshire, which is close to Junction 28 on the M1, and 1½ miles from Alfreton railway station. Directions will be sent out with pre-Conference information around 1st Aug. (Note no pets, except guide dogs, are allowed.) For more information see www.cct.org.uk/thehayes.
